According to news from foreign news agencies on June 5, Interfax reported that the world’s second-largest aluminum producer, Rusal Aluminum, increased its export value by 197,000 tons in May, nearly three times more than in April.
According to data from the Russian Railway Group quoted by the Interfax news agency, aluminum exports from January to May totaled 972,000 tons, a 16% drop from the same period of the previous year.
According to one source, Russia transports goods from inland warehouses to ports through railroads.
Rusal declined to comment.
A source said last month that RUSAL resumed shipments to some of its customers, despite increased sanctions from the United States in April.
Last year, RUSAL exported a total of 3.95 million tons of aluminum, of which 42% was exported to Europe. Rusal’s May Aluminum Export Value Added 197,000 Ton or Get Rid of U.S. Sanctions
